UDAIPUR (Tripura), June 24 (TIWN): Two family members drowned on Sunday in a pond, at Hulakhet area at Garjit of Udaipur.

The deceased have been identified as Sunati Majumder (75) and Sagar Majumder (8). The  deceased are grandmother and grandson in relation.

Like everyday, Sagar with her grandmother went near the pond located in their house but both of them died.

As nobody was present on the spot, nothing can be said how the tragic incident developed.

The incident took place at around 2.30 pm, whereas the bodies were taken to Gomati District hospital at 4.30 but doctor declared both of them as dead.
