AGARTALA, June 20 (TIWN): Agartala City to be shaped into a smart-city within 2021, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb said in the Assembly Day 2.
Rs. 165 crore has been sanctioned for SMART City project for Agartala. At the same time, Govt has proposed to create two more reservoirs to control the flood and some projects to save Howrah have been proposed to be launched.
Govt is also taking initiative to diminish the water-logging problems of the city and there was mention in the budget about this, CM said.
Smart Cities Mission, sometimes referred to as Smart City Mission, is an urban renewal and retrofitting program by the Government of India with the mission to develop 100 citiesacross the country making them citizen friendly and sustainable and Central Govt is giving its full support to Tripura Govt to make Agartala a smart city, the Chief Minister added.
