Journalist Sudip Datta Bhaumik murder case : High Court stays Distric Court’s order on ‘No CBI’

AGARTALA, June 20 (TIWN): Journalist Sudip Datta Bhaumik murder case likely to be taken by CBI as High Court has issued a stay order on District Court’s order latest order. Earlier, District Court had rejected the appeal for CBI investigation in this murder case. Today High Court in an order has issued stay order in Sudip Datta Bhaumik murder case.Experts are saying, via High Court now the case is directing toward CBI-investigation.Resentments had brewed among a section of media persons after Tripura Govt lawyer of Sudip Datta Bhaumik murder case instead of demanding CBI to probe the murder case proceeded the whole case under SIT's chargesheet on May 15.Congress leader cum the advocate of Sudip Datta Bhaumik’s murder accused persons Pijush Kanti Biswas on that time told media very clearly, there is no doubt that CBI was denied by the state govt.

"Because the govt was satisfied with SIT led investigation, so the lawyer didn't ask for  any CBI investigation", Pijush Kanti Biswas said. 

Later it was appealed in High Court and today High Court has stayed District Court’s order.

In 2017 Tripura's two journalists were killed in separate incidents. On September 20, 2017, state’s TV journalist Santanu Bhaumik was killed. Manik Sarkar led govt however denied CBI in that's case.

After 31 days of Santanu’s murder senior journalist of Tripura Sudip Datta Bhaumik was killed brutally at the 2nd Bn TSR headquarter. The main accused in that case commandant Tapan Debbarma was arrested.
