KAILASHAHAR / AGARTALA, June 14 (TIWN): HQ 21 Sector Assam Rifles spearheaded flood relief and rescue operations in the inundated areas at Belahar, Fatikroy, Kumarghat & Kailashahar.

 Large number of families have already been evacuated from inundated areas to nearest relief camps. Water, food and medical facilities have been extended to the people in relief camps by Assam Rifles. 

Five columns of Assam Rifles have been operating at Kailashahar along with NDRF to rescue people. Local resources and boats from fishermen have been pooled in for rescue operations. Rescue & relief operations along with NDRF team & DC Gomati are still under progress. The genuine efforts of Assam Rifles to extend help during disastrous situation was appreciated by all.
