AGARTALA, June 13 (TIWN): Finally after 3 months of hibernation, opposition Leader Manik Sarkar awaken to voice protests against allegedly organized violence by BJP’s unruly activists. Tripura opposition leader Manik Sarkar in his first ever press conference after Assembly Election challenged BJP Govt for the first time via a press conference at Melarmath CPI-M Headquarter. After his two day long visit at Dhalai District with MLA Prabhat Chowdhury and MLA Tapan Chakraborty, EX-CM Manik Sarkar raised question, “Forget everything, but in our last 25 years of ruling, did Tripura’s any political leader was stopped to meet the mass ? Did anybody was asked to Go Back ? It proves where democracy is existing todayâ€. Manik Sarkar in his last two day visit at Gandacherra, Hatimara, Ganga Nagar, Raishyabari faced various mob angers who blocked road, gheraoed him with slogans of "Go Back". Sarkar also confirmed that no force was applied upon the blockaders by Manik Sarkar’s security and police.
Manik Sarkar and his team faced similar situations in few parts of the Dhalai District and as a result CPI-M leaders meeting with the masses remained unsuccessful to some extent.However, Sarkar said locals at Ganganagar during Manik Sarkar’s returning towards Agartala invited him to address them.
In a community Hall which was made by Ex-Minister Lt. comrade Khagendra Jamatia with his MLA fund, at there Manik Sarkar met his party activists in the afternoon and meeting them they returned came Manu.
But in the road also those same people were shouting “Go Back”, added Manik Sarkar.
Sarkar also said, the party leaders were facing landslides, flood like areas and thus the CPI-M leaders couldn’t go to Kanchanpur. On the way to returning Agartala, the Ex-CM met DM, SP of Dhalai from Health to Food related issues.
Meeting the officials, Manik Sarkar said MGNREGA mandays have been less than the last year.
Manik Sarkar also requested DM Dhalai to cancel the Adhaar-linking of rationing system (bio-metric) in villages right now as it’s leading food crisis.
