AGARTALA, May 28 (TIWN): CPI-M’s frustration visible after Chief Minister Biplab Deb donated Rs 5 lakhs to a victim’s family under CPI-M ruled Kerala Police’s torture. After Tripura BJP Chief Minister Biplab Deb had donated Rs. 5 lakhs to Kerala custodial victim, CPI-M State Secretary Bijan Dhar on Monday slammed the Chief Minister accusing him for conducting ‘Election Offence’. Addressing in a press conference at Melarmath Headquarter, Bijan Dhar said, “First we thought CM donated the amount from BJP-fund, but it’s surprising that from State Govt funds he donated that money to an RSS family ahead of Election. I will not go for discussion about the legal authentication of that action, but in Tripura such incident never happenedâ€. “Also it raises question, why suddenly ahead of the Election, CM’s sympathy expanded for Kerala people ? In his own state people are dying in flood and natural disasters but no money was given in reality even after announcement, whereas funds are coming heavily from the centreâ€, the CPI-M leader added.
Bijan Dhar also asked, ‘Who is Biplab Deb to transfer Tripura Govt fund ?’
Noteworthy, on May 24 Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb had announced five lakh solatium to the family of Varapuzha police custodial death victim Sreejith on behalf of Tripura Govt. CM also participated in a road-show at there, campaigned for BJP at Kerala on that day.
While announcing the compensation, CM said, “Although it is a “small state”, the people of Tripura have a "Big" heart.
CM had announced that the solatium will be handed over to Sreejith’s family through BJP leaders in Kerala. After visiting Sreejith’s family, Bilpab Deb also took a dig at Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijiayan for failing to visit Sreejith’s family.
Today Tripura CPI-M has come heavily against the activity of the Chief Minister raising doubts about the ‘Legal’ validity of the donation.
