Flood threats rising on Howrah river banks, camps opened for affected families

AGARTALA, May 20 (TIWN): Atleast 20 families have taken shelter in camps after flood washed away their houses on Howrah river bank at Pratapgarh area.

Near MBB College Iswar Pathshala around 70 people have already taken shelter from Pratapgarh.

At Baldakhal, Srilanka Basti areas also the flood threats are increasing with the Howarh river water level is expanding.

West DM Sandeep Mahatme is now visiting the spots, taking notes of the damages and further threats.

At Kashipur area of Agartala boats have been launched by state govt to pass the locals.

The flood threat also has increased in various part of the state as the monsoon continues to shower on the state.

Torrential rains have triggered huge landslides in several parts of the region and damaged public property.

Already 11 persons died in Tripura during the ongoing pre-monsoon.
