AGARTALA, May 15 (TIWN): The Supreme Court led terminated 10323 teachers are meeting state Ministers via Janata Durbar as only 1 and half month has left for their permanent terminations. However, the state Govt is also thinking about their future and also 'determined' to secure their jobs, beyond Supreme Court's order. The 10323 teachers who were terminated with Supreme Court’s final verdict are going to lose their jobs after 30th June 2018 as after 31st December-2017 their jobs were increased on ad hoc basis for more 6 months but that tenure also is going to end on June 30th. Tripura Govt is thinking about their career, the Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Debbarma told media on Monday.

On last March 11, the terminated 10323 teachers held a meeting in the Rabindra Bhawan. 10,323 teachers' jobs were cancelled by Tripura High Court in 2014 on May 7 after spotting irregularities in the recruitment process under Manik Sarkar led CPI-M Govt.

A division bench of the high court, comprising Chief Justice Deepak Gupta and Justice Swapan Chandra Das, had passed then order May 7, 2014 terminating the jobs of 10,323 school teachers after Dec 31, citing irregularities in recruitment and SC has upheld High Court's 2014 verdict.

However, High Court asked the Tripura Govt to save 10323 teachers jobs, by appointing the deprived youths who filed cases against the irregularities in recruitment of 10323 teachers by the then Tripura Govt, but on that time Tripura Govt didn't appoint the deprived 59 youths and challenged the High Court verdict in the Supreme Court.

On March 29, 2017, the Supreme Court also held High Court's order and terminated the teachers. Supreme Court in a humanaitarian gesture to 10323 teachers mentioned that the teachers will continue their jobs till 2017, 31st Dec.

Later with the request of Tripura Govt, the Supreme Court added 6 months of ad hoc basis jobs for the teachers which will be end on June 11, 2018. Supreme Court issued 6th month's contract jobs for the teachers as Tripura Govt told Supreme Court, if teachers are terminated schools will be suffering from teachers crisis in the mid-session.

However, the BJP before the election had promised to save the career of the 10323 teachers, even though the teachers recruitment and their termination both took place under the CPI-M regime.
