AGARTALA, April 30 (TIWN): Power reached each village of India, but Tripura’s power problem continues. Throughout the day Tripura’s capital city has suffered from pathetic power connectivity and low voltage was reported in various parts of Agartala City. In the Banamalipur area, from Math Chowmuhnai to various spots people have passed their whole day under low voltage. It has been alleged, following each rain state Tripura has been suffering from flood-like situation since the CPI-M regime and mismanagement of the previous govt for 25 years have led the whole disaster. In the past two years the water-logging problems of the capital city has increased a lot. Instead of taking advise from city planners or engineers, AMC once with aims to convert Agartala City into Singapore overnight had started filling up all the drains with covers which mainly led the mass disaster.

As the result, the water discharging process was fully paralyzed led each rains to turn Agartala city a 'Lake'.

However, the new Chief Minister on March 18, 2018 promised, "Water-logging can not continue in the next monsoon and within 15-20 days Municipal Corporation will complete the first level of work on it including mosquito problems. My constituency Banamalipur is the worst sufferer of Agartala flood in the rainy season, but already we have started to work on it".

Also various machines were set at the Orient Chowmuhani and other areas of Agartala, which got wide publicity in next days newspapers, but when rain came after above 1 month of the claim, the City couldn't be saved from water-logging. On the other side, CPI-M controlled AMC officials led by Mayor Prafullajit Sinha had visited various spots of Agartala and checked drainage just on yesterday. He also claimed tall about 'Problem-solution'.

But the fate of Agartala City has not yet changed. People of Agartala face many problems as monsoon arrives. An issue that hassles the city every year is flooding as AMC (Agartala Municipal Corporation) planners yet to learn City planning. Earlier, AMC closed all drains by concrete cover, so it stopped cleaning of soil and garbage, in turn these chocked drains cannot carry water so water floods the streets.

There are 8 to10 points in the city where water-logging are a perennial problem during monsoon seasons triggering serious traffic jams and flooding in various localities. The resident of Agartala has been facing serious water-logging problems for the last few years. The situation gets worse during rainy season as they had to wade through at least knee- deep water. A spell of hour’s heavy rains had cause chaos in the city exposing civic bodies, lack of preparedness to address the problem of water-logging. Though the areas gets flooded every year the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) does not seem to be coming up with any solutions leaving the residents angry and frustrated and today after 30 minutes rain the city was flooding with drain water.

CPI-M Govt's foolishness in closing Agartala's drainage system proved Manik Sarkar Govt as blind-followers bureaucrats whims & fancies or these semi-literate and time of Biplab Deb also the possibilities are same. Instead of proper drainage, Biplab Deb bought expensive machines to discharge water from Agartala city and the result has emerged with a big zero and today Agartala City is flooding after 30 minutes of rain.
