AGARTALA, April 26 (TIWN): B.Ed students led protest turned so heavy for the newly elected BJP Govt that Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath had to declare “such politics will never be tolerated in futureâ€. “Under the CPI-M Govt the Education system was paralyzed due to the too much interference of politics inside the Colleges and Schools. But now such activities will not be toleratedâ€, the Minister said. However, when the Minister is talking about no politics inside campuses, then what about students unions inside the Colleges ? Earlier, due SFI’s unruliness, higher education turned paralyzed, but now even though SFI has escaped from Colleges, but ABVP has been created. The students in college hours, whole day stay inside the council, gossip and also often rallies are conducted inside the campus and sometimes outside campus.
But when the B.Ed students protested at Secretariat without any political banner, it seemed to the Govt as a political activity.
Till the student council will be inside Colleges, no Govt can develop Quality Education in the state.
But addressing a press meet Tripura Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath said, "In coming days any student should not leave College to sit in demonstration. Earlier, in the CPI-M era the Education system was paralyzed due to the too much interference of politics inside the Colleges and Schools. But now such activities will not be tolerated. If needed, we will come to talk to the students inside the College. From Janata Durbar to many means are there where they can place their demands”.
