AGARTALA, April 25 (TIWN): There is no need of B.Ed less freshers’ recruitment as state Tripura has already 5000 SSA teachers who are working under SSA in contractual basis since decades. When Tripura Govt has appealed the Central Govt to allow the state govt to fill-up 12,222 vacant posts without B.Ed qualified candidates, the Chief Minister is far from to talk on SSA’s regularization. If SSA teachers are regularized automatically 5000 teachers shortage will be diminished who are serving the Education Dept since decades at contractual basis and rest vacancies can be filled up easily by B.Ed qualified and undergoing B.Ed students who are now 7000 in total.

The SSA teachers are striving to become regular since the CPI-M Govt's era, but the previous CPI-M Govt never regularized the teachers, rather per month their salaries had been cut which were coming from the centre.

 In this condition, the present BJP Govt is their only hope as before coming in power BJP promised to regularize them once the party makes a govt here. 

On yesterday morning, the undergoing B.Ed students came to meet the CM to ask him reason behind such an unethical demand from the Centre when the same CM before coming in power promised, there will be no compromise with the "quality education". But after CM denied to meet the students and after that, the students blocked road at Secretariat, blocking Ministers' movements.

Govt perhaps could appoint teachers in contract by checking marks and proper qualification and after they complete B.Ed, they can sit in the TET again, instead of directly appointing them as Asst Teachers. With all these, sharp reaction have been come, as the newly charged BJP  Govt  yet to understand that rather than unemployment, the resentment against “Biased Recruitment” had downed CPI-M’s vessels.

The BJP government in Tripura has urged the Centre for one-time relaxation in academic and other qualifications to facilitate recruitment of 12,222 teachers to overcome their shortage in the state, an official said on Saturday.

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb met the Prime Minister's Principal Secretary Nripendra Mishra on Friday in New Delhi and took up the state's six demands, including recruitment of teachers.

"Deb told Mishra that if the Human Resource Development Ministry did not relax the academic and other qualifications of teachers as laid down by the NCTE (National Council For Teacher Education) the state would not be able to recruit 12,222 teachers," the official posted in the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) here said.

According to the Right of the Child to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act of 2009 and NCTE guidelines, Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) is mandatory for recruitment of teachers in government schools. 

To appear for the TET, the candidate ought to have 50 per cent marks in certain subjects and a Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Elementary Education or Diploma in Education.
