AGARTALA, April 19 (TIWN): A strange situation has been erupted before the BJP Govt in Tripura as the farmers are not taking interest much in pineapple production, but the State Govt is trying to push the state for year-long pineapple production.

After today's cabinet meeting Tripura Agriculture Minister Pranajit Singha Roy said, "On yesterday also we tried to inspire the farmers for pineapple production via open gatherings.  But, they are worried following their past years experiences. They are not understanding yet the value of the Queen variety pineapples".

The Minister has also mentioned, via society the productions of the pineapples will be controlled and in contracts the societies will be given charges for numbers of gardens. 

The Minister also accepted that the marketing and propaganda about Tripura's pineapples are not up to the mark, but said the state govt will successfully go ahead with the pineapple projects. 

"We have already dealt with a Dubai base company, but right now I will not take its name. We are trying to expand the business with more numbers of companies", he said.
