AGARTALA, April 11 (TIWN): To boost the connectivity among India and Bangladesh via Tripura, the state govt has proposed another alternative route via Udaipur's Maharani through waterways till Bangladesh's Daudkhandi.
"We need to take up the issue of Connectivity between Maharani in India and Daudkandi in Bangladesh, so that development of complete stretch from Maharani is undertaken in an integrated and holistic manner simultaneously with the development of river stretch within India", Tripura CM Biplab Deb said in NITI Aayog meeting at Agartala.
CM also mentioned about the construction of a bridge in India across river Feni and helping Bangladesh mordenize Chittagong port which will benefit the people of both Bangladesh and Northeastern.
"Opening of Railway link through Agartala and Bangladesh would make another way to improve the railway connectivity with Bangladesh and further with other countries", CM said.
"Chittagong and Mongla ports in Bangladesh by Tripura need to be finalized on priority", he said.
