AGARTALA, April 3 (TIWN): Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb in his second Delhi visit
(after assuming charge as Chief Minister), has met various central ministers including Union Minister for state Information Technology Alphons Kannanthanam. Along with tourism development's discussion with Central Minister Alphons Kannanthanam, CM also held a meeting with the minister keeping eyes on state’s IT development to mitigate the unemployment crisis. Alphons Kannanthanam is serving as the Minister of State (Independent Charge) in Ministry of Tourism and as Minister of State in Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology since 3rd September, 2017.The Central Govt had already assured to set up an Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIIT) in Tripura aimed to open opportunity for the software engineers.
Indian Institutes of Information Technology are a group of institutes of higher education in India, focused on information technology. Tripura IIIT will be fully based on PPP model.
This CM's second visit but during his and Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Debbarma’s earlier Delhi visit, Union Minister of Human Resource Development Prakash Yavedkar also met the state leaders and after the meeting at Delhi, the state govt in Tripura has announced that.
"Central Govt has assured to set up an Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIIT) in Tripura aimed to open opportunity for the software engineers. The previous Govt was never ready to work with PPP model but now things will be changed. At NIT Classes will be begun on immediate basis and infrastructural developments will also begin with it", CM said on that time (March 19).
Chief Secretary Sanjeev Ranjan was also present with the Chief Minister. However, regarding the details about the meeting will be announced once the meetings with all listed central ministers are completed. Discussions were also held regarding how to boost Tripura’s tourism.
