AGARTALA, March 22 (TIWN): CPI-M in State Committee meeting have termed the post-election situation of Tripura as 'abnormal'.
Addressing a press conference, CPI-M State Secretary Bijan Dhar said, "Various sub-divisional Committee members have submitted reports of BJP, IPFT led attacks during the meeting. The report says a fascist attitude is ruling allover the state"
"Except few party offices, our almost all party offices were attacked, looted, captured. There is not a single trade union office which was not either set on fire or attacked. Moreover they added false allegations against CPI-M", said Bijan Dhar.
"The second category of attack was to attack the CPI-M activists and their families. Thirdly various properties including ponds were poisoned, animals were forcefully taken away. Even agricultural products were taken from fields. Our many activists are admitted in GB hospital and in other hospitals", he said.
"Money extortion went beyond 50 lakhs ! Press, media people are being attacked ! Daily Deser Katha's sellings are trying to stop. Few TV channels' reporters are also facing the same", Dhar said.
"Hundreds of youths are homeless, many were bound to leave the state. At rural areas, Panchayat CPI-M workers are forced to resign. Yesterday Udaipur Municipal Corporation chairman was attacked and same happened at South Tripura. An abnormal situation is going on across the state, even auto drivers from CITU are not allowing to continue their work".
"Today in state committee meeting, we have condemned such incidents led by IPFT and BJP. What can be the result of Cholo-Paltai it's now visible", he said.
