AGARTALA, March 18 (TIWN): While addressing media at Banamalipur, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb said, "If Bank Officials can do everyday's work everyday why other Govt employees can not do ? Before leaving office the works need to be completed or I will take care of the employee". CM was asked by media about the ongoing slow drainage works at Agartala when monsoon is knocking the door. In reply he said, "I can't blame the employees for loopholes of works under the previous Govt. But now the speed of Govt works will be increased automatically. The previous Govt itself was slow and thus their employees were slow, but those days are now gone".
"Now, we have formed our own Govt. Keep trust on our Govt and the cabinet. I have also appealed to the Govt employees that they must work with working-motives and to be time-bound. If they start working, automatically the employees will catch the speed. Daily works will be completed on daily-basis from now", said Deb.
"If Bankers can do, why not other officials. In Bank before you go, one has to complete the work in the evening. If they can do, why other employees can not ? Each person in Govt job, must complete their official works before the leave office or I will take care of him", he added.
Noteworthy, on March 10, in the first cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Biplab Deb had asked the Govt employees at the same time to be punctual and to complete everyday's work before leaving the office.
CM said, "We need to develop the work-culture. I would not say, we don't have work-culture, but we should be more into that. Govt is by the people. After people have voted, then only Govt came in power. The Govt employees are those, via whom, the State Govt will work. You are the representatives of the Govt and thus I am calling all officials of each department to come in office in time and to be punctual".
Recently the Chief Minister also suspended four govt officials for negligence in work.
