AGARTALA, March 18 (TIWN): CPI-M MP Jiten Chowdhury has claimed that media’s role in Tripura is somewhere not "impartial" as they are not projecting how the party offices of CPI-M were burnt, targeted, occupied and PM Modi’s photos have been posted at there. On the other side, Tripura DGP A K Shukla calling media in the Police Headquarter two times said all these allegations are rumours, which led the confusion. DGP also said that police will take strict actions against them, who will try to spread rumours. But till day Police couldn’t take any action against CPI-M leaders with rumour-charges and continuously alleging violence, neither police could warn CPI-M’s official page where time to time burnt party offices, occupied party offices are shown. In this condition the question is raising, why DGP is silent on that issue ? A K Shukla categorically never mentioned that CPI-M is spreading rumours, neither police investigating the issues or officially announcing anything which is leading a confusion in the media reports too.
CPI-M has alleged, BJP led attack killed two babies inside their mother’s wombs. At the same time, above 2000 attacks were alleged by CPI-M.
CPI-M leaders on yesterday visited various party offices and alleged ‘continuous brutal attacks by BJP, IPFT’.
Gautam Das mentioning about party offices with locations said, “Our party offices are mainly targeting, either set on fire or occupied”.
MP Jiten Chowdhury said, “After occupying the party offices, they are putting PM Modi’s pictures in one side and in other side their leaders as Mebar Kumar Jamatia. Isn’t it mean PM Modi is sponsoring the brutal attacks ?”
Jiten Chowdhury also raised question, " Many journalists are holding talk-shows saying in last 25 years CPI-M tried to seize the power of fourth pillar of democracy. But I want to ask in last 25 years have you experienced such lawlessness era ? Why media is mentioning CPI-M's name while projecting violence ? I think media should open eyes and inspect".
"IPFT, BJP have occupied our 40 year's old party offices. They are demanding donations from public forcefully. There is no rule of law in Tripura. Still media is silent !", said Jiten Chowdhury.
But DGP has remained tightlipped so far. Just mentioning about ‘rumour’ the police chief is escaping to take liabilities. Police is failed to take action either against the rumour spreaders led by CPI-M or against the IPFT, BJP workers.
