BISHALGARH, Feb 3 (TIWN): 15 days ahead of Tripura's crucial Assembly Election, Tripura's former Congress CM Samir Barman has walked with BJP after withdrawing his nomination.
The 75 years old, Tripura's former Congress Chief Minister Samir Barman who had submitted nomination paper as an Independent candidate on January 31 from Bishalgarh constituency, has withdrawn nomination today.
After withdrawing nomination, the Ex-Congress leader has walked with BJP Bishalgarh candidate Nitai Chowdhury.
The Congress leader had expelled Samir Barman for his ant-party activities in the last year.
Samir Barma was the Chief Minister of Tripura from 19.2.92 to 10.3.93 as a member of the Indian National Congress.
Within his 1 year of Chief Ministry, the law and order was collapsed in Tripura so much that Central Govt had to announce President's rule.
In 1993 CPI-M came in power, when people mass-rejected the Congress party due to the collapsed law and order of Tripura under Samir Barman.
