Chennai, June 24 : Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Ramdas Athawale, said on Saturday that the opposition parties do not have a clear agenda, they cannot unite, nor can they defeat Narendra Modi or the BJP.
Speaking to reporters in Chennai, Athawale said, “Every party has separate principles. They cannot unite and defeat Modi, who is a strong leader "
"In fact, opposition parties uniting against Modi is advantageous to him," Athawale said without mentioning the reason for his claim.
The comment comes a day after the leaders of all the major opposition parties met in Patna and discussed the prospects of forming a mega alliance ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha election.
