Bengaluru, May 16 : Karnataka Congress President D.K. Shivakumar on Tuesday left for New Delhi for a discussion with party leadership on chief ministerial candidate in his state.
Karnataka Chief Minister post's frontrunner DK Shivakumar has left for Delhi an hour ago from Bengaluru's airport today. Shivakumar's brother DK Suresh said that Congress top brass Mallikarjun Kharge and Sonia Gandhi will take a final call in Delhi today. DK Suresh said, “DK Shivakumar is coming today, after that, AICC president and other leaders will sit together and discuss the issues". Another Karnataka CM's contender Siddaramaiah already met top Congress leaders yesterday night. Siddaramaiah was the CM of Karnataka from 2008-2013.
Before his departure from Bengaluru, Karnataka Congress president Shivakumar said, ""The Party is my god...We have built this party, I am a part of it and I am not alone in this". He added, "We have built this party (Congress), we have built this house. I am a part of it...A mother will give everything to her child".
Before leaving for Delhi, Congress Karnataka president DK Shivakumar on Tuesday said, "If the party wants they can give me the responsibility....... Ours is a united house, our number is 135. I don't want to divide anyone here. Whether they like me or not, I am a responsible man. I will not backstab and I will not blackmail".
