Gen Anil Chauhan takes charge as India's Chief of Defence Staff

New Delhi, Sep 30 (TIWN) Lieutenant General Anil Chauhan on Friday assumed charge as the second Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) of the country. The post was lying vacant for over nine months since the death of the first CDS General Bipin Rawat in December 202.
Gen Chauhan, a former Eastern Army Commander, took charge as the country's senior-most military commander over nine months after first Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Gen Bipin Rawat died in a helicopter crash in Tamil Nadu.
