Bhubaneswar, Dec 5 (TIWN) Tara Prasad Bahinipati, a senior Congress legislator in Odisha Assembly on Saturday dressed up as a Hindu priest and sprinkled 'Ganga Jal' and cow urine' inside the Assembly hall in a bid to 'purify' it.
MoS Mishra has been accused of having links with Gobinda Sahu- the prime accused in the murder of Mamita Meher, the lady school teacher of Sunshine English Medium School in Mahaling, Kalahandi. The Jeypore MLA, donning the attire of a priest, performed puja in the Assembly to purify it. His act received support of the main Opposition in the House with the BJP members too creating ruckus in the Assembly by beating gongs and bells protesting Mishra. Following the ruckus, Speaker Surjya Narayan Patra adjourned the House till 4 pm. Speaking to the media, Bahinipati said, “Minister Mishra put his unholy steps in the temple of democracy and polluted it. I sprinkled Ganga Jal, cow urine and basil leaves on the floor to purify it.”
