AGARTALA, July 14 (TIWN): Belonia block congress staged protest for the benefit of daily wager working class people but in the midst of the programmed Police obstructed their programmes showing the excuses of Corona epidemic.

In the presence of Shantanu Pal, Chairman of the State Committee Organization, Block Congress President Arup Deb, led by former MLA Dilip Chowdhury, raised slogans in front of the Belonia Congress building. With various demands for the benefit of daily wager Congress leader’s activists protested in front of the Belonia Congress Building. Leaders and activists of the Congress joined the program with placards and party flags, and among other demands, demanded one-time financial assistance of Rs 10,000 to each and every worker on the rise of the Corona epidemic and to provide labour cards to all daily wagers.

 In the midst of the protest the Police obstructed their protest showing the excuses of Covid.

Expressing outrage at the police's obstruction of their party program, Congress leaders said what kind of democracy it is? When the ruling party organised party programmes and congratulatory rallies with thousands of people no advance permission is needed from the authority. But when it comes to opposition party programmes and rallies with limited persons, Police obstruct the opposition party programs.

When we, the opposition leaders, step to the streets and talk for the benefit of working class people then corona arrives and police obstruct us, said former MLA Dilip Chowdhury.
