AGARTALA, May 26(TIWN): Frequent power cuts in Tripura have become common nowadays, but the long time power disruption hits normal livelihood. The daily life of the citizens in the state has been affected due to frequent power cuts. Sometimes the power-cut lasts for a long week. Not only that, in urban areas too people have been affected due to frequent power cuts, sometimes the power cuts are enforced for long hours almost every day. Kerosene lamps, candles, hand fans were forgotten matters for the capital city Agartala’s people but the situations are getting worse.
On one side temperature is increasing rapidly and on the other side common people have become exhausted over frequent load shedding. Regular power disruption fuelling resentments among Tripura’s public. Such a scene again captured at Amareshpara in Karbook area, it was claimed that Amareshpara’s villagers are living without electricity for the last seven days.
Talking to the local villagers, it is known, there is no electricity in the Amreshpara area, Korbook for the last seven days, which has led to various problems. It was alleged due to power disruption for seven long days in the Amreshpara area that villagers are facing various problems.
Villagers many times informed to the Panchayat members including local leaders and SDM, but they did not take any initiatives. On Wednesday, Villagers gathered and protested to resolve the power disruption issue, and if immediately the issue would not be solved the villagers would start a massive protest and block the road to show their protest.
The villagers also informed to the media that a total 130 families are living in that area and from children to elderly people all are suffering due to 7 long days power-cut.
