Quake hits Assam, no damage reported

Guwahati, Sep 23 (TIWN) A moderate quake, measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale, shook western Assam's Barpeta district early on Tuesday, causing panic among people, officials said.
Both the quakes took place at around 1.28 am, Monday night.
The earthquake that hit Guwahati measured 4.4 on the Ricther scale and the one that shook Barpeta was of 4.2 magnitude, the National Centre of Seismology said.
No damages to life or property has been reported so far.
