AGARTALA, June 7 (TIWN): Tripura Law Minister Ratanlal Nath on Saturday said that due to COVID-19 total 3 lakhs 18 thousand 889 persons have been screened. The Health dept held the screening in Airports, railway Stations, Checkposts. Highest numbers of screenings were done in West Tripura over 2.38 lakhs. He further said, “Tripura has COVID-hospital is 1 at AGMC, COVID-19 Health Centres are 2 – IGM, BSF and COVID-19 care centre are now 17. Bed numbers are also increasing according to the needâ€. Total 55 new persons Tested COVID-19 Positive in Tripura, Chief Minister Biplab Deb has announced. "55 people found COVID-19 #POSITIVE in Tripura today out of 1125 samples tested. Majority of the POSITIVE patients have travel history and others were in contact of COVID-19 patient. Stay Cautious & Safe!", CM tweeted. With coronavirus cases increasing rapidly in the northeastern states and crossing the 3,000-mark and around 700 in Tripura, the state Governments in the region warned they would take stern action against those violating quarantine norms.
With the return of over 3.5 lakh domestic inhabitants from south and north India, there is a surge in coronavirus cases in the eight northeastern states, taking the total positive cases to 3,019, out of which 2,340 are active cases. In Tripura, the fresh case's patients were taken to Agartala Care centres today whereas a new management under TMC medical team started at Hapania Fair field for COVID-19 asymptomatic or mild-symptomatic persons.
At least 173 abroad returned persons from Bangladesh, Moscow and Kuwait, who have returned to Tripura are in institutional quarantine, said Law Minister Ratanlal Nath. From Kuwait total 52 persons have returned, from Bangladesh 106 persons returned and from Moscow 15 returned. All of them are now in Institutional Quarantine under the care of Health Dept. Earlier it was said that all abroad returnees to be in institutional quarantine.
