After Govt announced to bring back stranded people to home, 17,000 people stranded in 11 states registered online

AGARTALA, May 8 (TIWN): After Chief Minister Biplab Deb announced to bring back stranded people to home, already 17,000 registration was completed from 11 states.

Giving a detail of the situation, CM BIplab Deb has said, Three days ago, we launched an Online portal to bring back the people of Tripura now stranded in other States due to Lockdown.As of now, as many as 17,000 people of Tripura, now stranded in 11 States, have registered through the online portal for returning home”.

“Wherever the total number of stranded people will be in between 1000 to 1200, we shall provide direct train facility. E-pass will be generated on first come first serve basis for free of cost. Govt of Tripura will bear the expenditure for each train from Chief Minister's Relief Fund.In Karnataka, 5200 people of Tripura are stranded so we are arranging 4 direct Trains to Agartala. Payment for one train has already been made.From Chennai and Kolkata, we are arranging 3 direct trains to Agartala”, said Deb.

Govt of Tripura also to send back 33,000 Migrant workers to their respective states from Tripura and the expenditure will be carried by State Govt of Tripura.
