New Delhi, Sep 27 (TIWN) Soon after Kafeel Khan, who was accused in the 2017 Gorakhpur children death case, was cleared of charges, the Congress has hit hard at the Yogi Adityanath government.
Two years after an oxygen shortage killed more than 60 children at Gorakhpur's BRD Medical College, a departmental inquiry absolved paediatrician Dr Kafeel Khan of the charges of medical negligence, corruption and dereliction of duty. Speaking exclusivley with India Today TV, Dr Kafeel Khan said, "I am very happy today. Very good news has come for my whole family after two years."
A vindicated Dr Kafeel Khan said, "This inquiry report had been ordered by CM Yogi Adityanath himself on August 22, 2017. It was to be finished in 90 days but lingered on for two years." "The report has agreed that on that night (August 10, 2017) liquid oxygen had run out and my team got 500 cylinders in 54 hours. They have admitted there was a shortage of liquid oxygen because the Yogi government didn’t pay vendors because of which kids died."
