Agartala, Sep 15 (TIWN): Chief minister Shri Biplab Kumar Deb on Sunday inaugurated 'Boat race competition' on the occasion of 'Neermahal Jal Utsav' 2019 at Rudrasagar, Melaghar, Tripura.

Deb in his speech announced that 50,000 ducks was the target. Among them 10,340 ducks have been distributed . 2,019 ducks will be delivered on 16th and 17th. 350 ducks are already laying eggs. "Neermahal is a historic heritage of Tripura and Rudrasagar has fishermen, yet why the fishermen's lives did not change in past 25 years?" , Shri Deb threw the question. He said, "Those who destroyed Tripura, they are still shameless. If I would have 20 years long governance, I would have already turned Neermahal into a bigger tourist attraction than the one in Udaipur (Rajasthan) which is now a most sought after tourist destination . The Neermahal here has much greenery and habitats nearby. There is so much scope. "Neermahal itself has potential to raise 100 crore economy. I am making ways." said Shri Deb.

"Light and sound shows were put before but who closed them? Why there was no maintenance? Why didn't anyone bring this to notice? Is it only CM and chief secretary's duty?", asked Chief minister. " No one can wake us up but ourselves have to wake up. Everyone has to take responsibility and carry a vision. ", quoted Shri Deb.

Development means to be able to stand in one's own feet. Loans were not provided earlier but now getting loan is possible.Through the medium of tourism department, there is scheme for Neermahal in Swadesh darshan 1 and Swadesh darshan 2.

"This Government will not build buildings with taxes. Government will invest 1900 crore rupees for modern electrical lines so that there are no load shedding problem", said Chief Minister. "Government has already put out tender for making 3-star hotel in Neermahal", he added. "Slowly Tripura is standing in its own feet. I want to take tourism to international level to bring revenue. ", concluded Deb.
