Kolkata, June 11 (TIWN) West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday unveiled a bust of Bengali polymath Iswarchandra Vidyasagar at Kolkata's Hare School, 28 days after another bust of the 19th century reformer was vandalised at a city college during BJP President Amit Shah's road show.
The event was attended by a host of politicians, intellectuals, noted artists of the Bengali film industry and others.
Mamata Banerjee and other guests took turns to garland the Vidyasagar bust with much fanfare on Tuesday.
This comes a month after the bust of Vidyasagar was vandalised during a roadshow led by BJP president Amit Shah on May 14.
