Police in Manipur intensify efforts to rescue construction workers

Imphal, Dec 2 (TIWN / IANS) Police in Manipur on Sunday intensified efforts to rescue three construction workers kidnapped by suspected tribal militants on November 29.
According to authorities, the workers identified as Veer Singh from Haryana and Ranjit and D.K. Yadav from Uttar Pradesh were kidnapped when they were working along the National Highway 2 in Kanglatongbi, Kangpokpi district.
Police said that commandos were carrying out search operations in the mountain villages of Kangpokpi, a stronghold of some tribal outfits in the state.
