NEW YORK, Dec 4 : Sabrina Carpenter is upset with the White House for using her song "Juno" in a video promoting Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids. The video, posted on the White House's official X account, features clips of ICE agents apprehending and handcuffing people, set to Carpenter's song "Juno". Carpenter responded on X, saying "This video is evil and disgusting. Do not ever involve me or my music to benefit your inhumane agenda.”
The White House fired back, referencing Carpenter's album "Short n' Sweet" and using lyrics from her song "Manchild" to mock her. White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson said, "Here's a Short n' Sweet message for Sabrina Carpenter: we won't apologize for deporting dangerous criminal illegal murderers, rapists, and pedophiles from our country. Anyone who would defend these sick monsters must be stupid, or is it slow?"
This isn't the first time the White House has used an artist's music without permission. Other artists who have objected to the Trump administration's unauthorized use of their music include Olivia Rodrigo, Kenny Loggins, MGMT, and Semisonic.
