New York, Nov 23 (TIWN): Shakia Seabrook, a 33-year-old woman from the US, has created a dating app for people who are not interested in having sex after reaslising the sexually abstinent community was being underrepresented in the online dating industry.
The entrepreneur, who happens to be an abstinent woman herself, created 'The Sexless Tribe' last year for people like her. She said she had the urge to do something after God 'called to her'. "God just kept showing me this is what I'm calling you to do...pushed back against it because it wasn't a topic that I was super passionate about. In 2020, I finally gave God my yes and went full throttle from then on out," she told a media outlet. "I started the t-shirts and then I realized it wasn't enough because people wanted community. I came across someone that had created an app and I was like that's what we need: we need a home, we need a place that we can come together and connect," the 33-year-old added. The app is a resource space for people to access materials and also a community space to interact with others. Seabrook says the app offers a wide range of interactive and engaging features like events via zoom meetings, podcasts, late-night check-ins, and daily quotes.
