New Delhi, May 22 (TIWN): Friends is regarded as one of the most popular TV series of all time. So to be one of its leading actors makes you untouchable, and unflawed, right? Well, no, actually. Because it turns out Lisa Kudrow suffered many of the same body confidence issues you or I might regularly deal with during her years acting in the show.
Lisa, who played Phoebe Buffay for ten seasons of Friends, recently spoke candidly about the harsh comparisons she regularly made of herself against co-stars Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox - and how it drove her to make unhealthy decisions.
Being interviewed by Marc Maron on his podcast, WTF With Marc Maron, the actor revealed she "felt like this mountain of a woman next to [Jennifer and Courteney]."
"You see yourself on TV and it’s that, 'Oh, my God, I’m just a mountain of a girl'," Lisa said. "I’m already bigger than Courteney and Jennifer - bigger, like my bones feel bigger."
Negatively comparing herself to her co-stars led Lisa to eat less, eventually becoming "too thin". But despite her weight loss making her "always sick", the positive affirmations she received by those around her about her body drove her to continue.
