Panaji, Nov 14 : Crime Branch Police have arrested three persons for allegedly demanding protection money from fish selling agents.
The accused reportedly threatened agents and demanded Rs 50,000 per month in exchange for protection. Opposition leaders and lawmakers have raised concerns about this practice, suggesting that Goa is experiencing a breakdown in law and order, with law enforcement agencies failing to address the issue effectively. The calls for protection money, allegedly originating from London, have fueled anxieties among local fish sellers, highlighting the need for authorities to address the situation promptly.
