AGARTALA, Dec 29 (TIWN): The ATM counter shutter of Boxnagar Punjab National Bank has been closed for the last 15 days, while the SBI ATM is also not working for long time. Despite informing bank authorities, no one came to repair the machines.
According to sources, there are 50 to 60 thousand people in 13-gram panchayats under Boxanagar block. Many of them have accounts between these two banks.
These 50 to 60 thousand customers depend on these two ATMs. The distance from Boxnagar to Bishalgarh is about 15 kilometers, on the other hand, the distance from Boxnagar to Sonamura is 25 kilometers. It is impossible for customers to withdraw money from an ATM so far away.
Locals claimed that if the ATMs are not repaired immediately, the customers in the area can make a bigger movement in coming days.
