India's merchandise exports rise by 6% in September

New Delhi, Oct 16 (TIWN) India's merchandise exports in September rose by 5.99 per cent on a year-on-year basis, official data showed on Thursday.
The country shipped out merchandise worth $27.58 billion during the month under review as against $26.02 billion exported in the same period of the previous year. In terms of sequential movement, the country's merchandise exports in August stood at $22.70 billion. The contraction caused by the Covid-19 pandemic had widened during August at (-) 12.66 per cent from (-) 10.12 per cent in July and (-) 12.41 per cent in June.
