AGARTALA, Jan 7 (TIWN): The job scenario in Tripura reflects the ongoing slowdown in the Country as well as state, with various sectors, facing job cuts over declining sales and poor demand. CMIE’s latest unemployment data offers a glimpse into the job scenario in the country amid severe economic downturn. According to CMIE’s September data, Tripura has the highest unemployment rate of 31.2 per cent rate.
Tripura witnessed severe unemployment and slowdown under BJP reign. Unemployment rate extremes in the state when the BJP Government failed to provide employment. Less privatization, companies and industries did not move to NE as well as Tripura. Social and political movements are responsible for unemployment in the state. The economy and the bureaucratic machinery that supports it do not encourage entrepreneurship and job creation there is a lot of red tape and crucial reforms are still pending.
But “Modi and company” promised “minimum government and maximum governance”- which translates to efficiency and growth- and failed to deliver on this.
Tripura CM roams around the state enjoying delicacies and boasts about works done under his power claiming, “Tripura is on the right path of development”. But he did nothing to solve the problems of the jobless youths.
When in 21 months of their rule BJP’s Vision Document promises remains untouched. While addressing a BJP gathering on Monday ,Tripura CM comments “I never promised Govt. jobs, it takes 17 years to pass Madhyamik and Phd. takes much more time, how will I give it in 20 months”? Where MISS CALL BABA promised jobs on Miss call’s , one job to every household, 50,000 jobs within a year, all turned out to be a big JUMLA.
