New Delhi, Oct 29 (TIWN) Bharti Airtel has deferred approval of the audited financial result for the second quarter till November 14 to seek more clarity from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) on the levy on annual gross revenues revenues (AGR) following the recent Supreme Court judgement.
The S&P BSE Sensex index climbed to as high as 39,698.99 in late morning deals, up 448.79 points from its previous close, and the broader NSE Nifty benchmark soared as much as 132.85 points to touch 11,760.00 on the upside. Strength in automobile and metal stocks pushed the markets higher. Equities in other Asian markets rose to a three-month high on Tuesday after Wall Street hit all-time highs amid hopes of progress in US-China trade talks and for another dose of policy stimulus from the Federal Reserve this week. MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan crept up 0.2 per cent to its highest since late July. Japan's Nikkei rose 0.5 per cent to reach ground last trod a full year ago.
