Oil prices jump nearly 4% over attack on oil tankers

Mumbai, June 13 (TIWN) The benchmark Brent Crude on Thursday logged a steep jump of nearly 4 per cent over reports of attack on oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman.
The benchmark commodity was up 4.37% on the previous session, trading at $62.59 a barrel at 8:15 a.m. ET. Tankers the Front Altair and the Kokuka Courageous have sustained significant fire damage and its crews have been evacuated, according to multiple shipping agents and chartering sources. The Kokuka Courageous, a chemical tanker that loaded in Saudi Arabia and was en route to Singapore, caught fire at the same time as the Front Altair just before 6:00 a.m. local time.
