AGARTALA, Dec 16 (TIWN): One 20 years Indian Army personnel Pushpendra Gurjar has committed suicide in Northeast State Tripura and the case has been referred to police for investigation. On the remarkable day, when Tripura along with whole country was celebrating Vijay Diwas, this incident has triggered tension and panics among the soldiers. Army DMO Shivan Sangwan has claimed it as a suicide but right now the body has sent for post mortem. Before the post mortem report nothing can be said clearly. He had shot himself to death below his chin. Police is investigating the case.
As per the Dist Medical Officer (DMO) of Army here, it has been written to police that Pushpendra Gurjar was in duty since 2 AM and had last talk with Sub Biju VP & D/NCO at 2.30 AM. At 4.10 AM he was found laying on the floor at RP gate with his 5.56 mm INSAS rifle with ammunition by No. 1523491F DMT Anish A S. Pushpendra Gurjar was immediately brought to 182 MH MI Room after that.
There was 'No relevant past history' to this death, said the DMO in the report.
About the injuries it has been written :
1) A1 X 1.2 cm circular open deep wound 4 cm below the chin with icchymotic patches, deep, bleeding present from wound, on the anterior aspect of the neck in the centre.
2) A 12 X 8 cm open, lacerated wound of the head at the central parieto-occipital region approx 12 cm above the neck, skull bone broken, open wound, blood oozing , brain herniating from the wound.
3) Bleeding from both ears.
4) 1.08 cm oval wound shallow 2.5 cm below the chin on right upper side of No-1 wound. Both wounds 1.5 cm apart.
Patients declared dead at the time of arrival at 0450 hrs.
However, the diagnosis report said, "Found dead (Cause Unknown) to be asserted after post mortem.
