AGARTALA, Nov 22 (TIWN): Tripura Governor Tathagata Roy expressed shocks over the shot dead of Tripura’s veteran journalist Sudip Datta Bahumik working in Sandyan Patrika, who is the 2nd journalist of the state killed within the gap of 2 months.
Addressing media, Roy said, “The incident mysterious and sad. The news I heard but the details are yet to be gathered. How, where the firing was done…..in details, I am trying to know from the Govt. I believe, I will see the incident till the end. How from a Govt boundary, through a Govt rifle a journalist was murdered ? The murder of Sudip Datta Bhaumik was more dangerous than the murder of Santanu Bhaumik….I have to see till the end”.
“One after one 2 journalists were murdered and the risk of journalists’ lives can’t be denied”, added Governor.
Asking further about the CBI investigation, Governor asked journalists to give a written letter to him demanding CBI.
