AGARTALA, Oct 14 (TIWN): A restless situation has emerged at Gol Bazar (now known as Maharaj Ganj Bazar) after CPI-M backed Matshya-Bebasayi-Samiti Secretary Shyamal Das demanded Rs. 2 lakhs from him.
Talking to media, the shop keeper and his family members said that since 20 to 25 years they are doing business in that shop. Even the ownership goes to them only.
But suddenly , since few months Matshya-Bebasayi-Samiti members are threatening them to donate Rs. 2 lakhs to the Matshya-Bebasayi-Samiti and they do not said any reason for it.
"I am also a supporter of CPI-M. Then why the Secretary is forcing me ?", said the victim.
On Saturday morning a group of Matshya-Bebasayi-Samiti came to his shop and attacked him. With this incident resentment has brewed among the local businessmen at there.
