AGARTALA, Aug 10 (TIWN): Chakma community held a protest at Agartala press club demanding equal rights for students under the Mizoram Govt following a medical entrance issue.
"We the Buddhist Community are saddened and outraged on the incident that happened in Mizoram related to medical seat allotments. As 5 minorities have got selected in merit list under National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET), 2017 for medical course who were invited for counseling.", said the agitators.
"According to formality, the Chakma students were selected and allotted the MBBS seats. Despite their selection in the merit basis, the non-state actors are protesting against allotment of their MBBS seats", said the agitators.
"If the Govt of Mizoram are succumbed to the protest of non-state actors it would be very unfortunate of a constitutional govt who are supposed not to beginj discrimination", said the protesters.
