AGARTALA, July 8 (TIWN): Maha-Lok-Adalat has begun at different court complex throughout the state.

At High Court also this Lok-Adalat was accomplished, said Deputy Secretary of Tripura State Legal Services Authority S K Singh.

This adalat was basically confined with MACT, Traffic Challan, Matrimonial etc.

Noteworthy, Legal Services Authorities Act 1987 was first time held at Junagadh (Gujarat) in October 1982.

The target of Lok Adalat is to end pending cases in regular court under their jurisdiction.

TheLok Adalat is presided over by a sitting or retired judicial officer as the chairman, with two other members, usually a lawyer and a social worker.
