AGARTALA, June 20 (TIWN): The situation in Agartala city has turned further critical with the monsoon season continues to shower. Even though there was a 12 hours respite from incessant rain but the water level of Agartala City has increased more than the waist level. Other towns and villages conditions are however not yet worse as Agartala City and also mismanagement of Agartala Municipality has been alleged for this hapless situation. Active Monsoon conditions were observed over many parts of northeastern states during the last 24 hours and it's to be continued for next around a week. The national highway's condition has also turned pathetic across Tripura with double lane works ongoing over the roads here.
Apart from that Agartala-Assam road has sank with knee level water hampering the daily transports there. Hanging bridge area, Srilanka Bosti, Baldakhal areas' people are the worst sufferers.
However, across the country monsoon to continue showers. As per weather Dept's report, the active Monsoon conditions will continue to give moderate to heavy rainfall over Northeast India, sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.
The West Coast and Madhya Maharashtra, North Interior Karnataka, Telangana, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand will receive light to moderate showers.
Scattered light rains may occur over East Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Odisha. Isolated areas of Gujarat, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu may see some rain activity.
