AGARTALA, June 9 (TIWN): Student Federation of India (SFI) held a protest at Agartala protesting against the attack on Yechury.

CPI-M General Secretary Sitaram Yechury was beaten at New Delhi on Wednesday after the completion of politburo meeting. A group of four people tried to manhandle Sitaram Yechury at the AKG Bhavan in the national capital on Wednesday afternoon. The police have nabbed two of the attackers.

The miscreants attacked Yechury as he was entering the third floor of the building to attend a press meet.

Yehcury fell down but did not sustain any injuries. Sitaram Yechury in his Social media asked why Indian Army is replying to 'stone-throwing' with bullets.

However, it was the ending of politburo meeting where Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar also joined. Attack upon Sitram Yechury's at New Delhi generated roars of protests across India.
