AGARTALA, July 22 (TIWN): Forest officials rescued a seven days old fawn of barking deer spices from Tuichakma area of Sadar North under Subalsingh Forest Range on Tuesday.
Wildlife officials said that the labourers spotted the infant fawn in the plantation while working inside.
They immediately informed the matter to forest officials and rescued him safely. The fawn will be shifted to Sepahijala wildlife sanctuary, officials stated. However, wildlife authority has issued alert to the forest guards and labourers to keep a close watch on the movement of deer after detention of the fawn.
“It is believed that at least a deer couple is around the forest patch; because the fawn looks like well-fed and charming and stayed along with his parents,” said wildlife officials.
The barking spices are shy and elusive member of the deer family is spread across all the dense jungles of India and they are found in Tripura forest.
