AGARTALA, March 28 (TIWN): Tripura Forest Dept. on Tuesday celebrated dividend payment ceremony of 'Tripura Forest Development and Plantation Corporation limited'.

Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, Forest Minister Naresh Jamatia remained present on that occasion.

"Tripura Forest Department and Plantation Corporation Limited (TFDPC Ldt), a Govt of Tripura undertaking was set up on  26/ 03 / 1976 under Companies Act, 1956. The authorities capital of the compnay is Rs. 919.94 lakhs of which contribution of state govt is Rs. 890.44 lakhs and that of Central Government is Rs. 29.50", Tripura Govt said in the press release.

Tripura Forest Department is entrusted with task of managing of Forest & Wildlife Resources of the state of Tripura. The moto of the Department is the “ecological stability for socio-economic security of the people of the state”. 

The main objectives of the Department are:
1. Prevention of degradation of forests resources & improving their quality.
2. Restoration of degraded forest land.
3. Maintaining ecological restoration.
4. Creation of livelihood opportunities through sustainable use of forests, wildlife & biodiversity resources.

However, presently rubber based economy under Tripura Forest Dept. has downed bamboo business to some extent affecting the environments of state.
