AGARTALA, March 24 (TIWN): World TB Day-2017 was observed in Tripura with full enthusiasm.

The programme was conducted by Tripura National Health Mission. A massive rally was organized at Agartala City in this regard attended by more than 100 ASHA women.

Apart from Agartala other subdivisions also celebrated the day with full enthusiasm.

World Tuberculosis Day or World TB Day, observed on March 24 each year, is designed to build public awareness about the global epidemic of tiberculosis (TB) and efforts to eliminate the disease. In 2012, 8.6 million people fell ill with TB, and 1.3 million died from the disease, mostly in the the world.
